Seeds at the Table

EXHIBITED DURING THE ‘Our Invisible Hands’ EXHIBITION DONE WITH SEASONAL NEIGHBOURS
at Z33, HASSELT, BELGIUM — 2022

Seeds at the Table is a meandering conversation between artists Ioana Lupașcu and Yacinth Pos, and seasonal workers at a place of arrival (the Netherlands) and a place of departure (Romania). The dialogue touches upon recipes from home, ways of cooking with weeds, cultural exchange, working conditions, and other personal stories.

The project manifests itself in a dinner intervention, an audio-walk, and a publication that dives deeper into the process. Those elements were showcased in the exhibition at Z33, organized in collaboration with the rest of the Seasonal Neighbours collective. Visitors were invited to take home sprouting weed seeds, along with recipes for cooking with these plants, personal stories from the dinner, and a QR code linking to the audio walk.
